Your next meeting, in the MacBook notch.

Ledge is a free notch app for Mac. When a meeting is a few minutes away, it shows up in the notch. Open the card for the day's events, the month and a Join button with a small camera mirror.

Free and open source. You need a MacBook with a notch and macOS 26 or later.

Check your camera
before you join.

Click the mirror on the Join button and your camera opens inside the card. Nothing is recorded. The camera turns off when the card closes.

How it works.

The card

The day's events sit next to a month view. You can move between days and months without leaving the card.

Which calendars

In Settings you can pick which calendars show up for each account. Ledge reads your events on your Mac to draw the notch. They stay on your Mac.

The mirror

When a meeting is about to start, a small mirror shows up on the Join button. Click it and the camera opens in the card so you can check how you look before you join. The card shows the camera's picture and keeps nothing. The camera turns off when the card closes.

On a shared screen

Ledge is hidden from screenshots, screen recordings and screen sharing unless you turn that off. Once the meeting starts, the people in it don't see the notch.

Permissions

Calendars gives Ledge your next event and the month. Without it there is no calendar card. Camera gives you the mirror. Without it Join still works, just without the mirror.

What it won't do.

  • Record. Nothing from the camera is saved.
  • Run on other Macs. Ledge needs a MacBook with a notch and macOS 26. External monitors get nothing.
  • Send your events anywhere. Calendar events are read on your Mac and stay there. The privacy page lists the four things Ledge does send.
